Toni Boucher Position on Education
Growing up my father would always tell me “Education is everything; it is the way out of poverty; it is the path to freedom.” My father was uneducated and poor. He was an immigrant brought us to this country to find the American Dream for me and my brother. His life experiences opened his eyes to the importance of education, and his words continue to guide me in all I do today.
Toni Boucher Position on Housing and 8-30 G
8-30G allows developers to override any local planning and zoning decision if less than 10% of the community’s housing is affordable. 8-30G was passed before I ran for office. As a freshman legislator in the house, I was assigned to the Housing Committee where I learned firsthand how this statute was abused by many developers throughout Connecticut.
Toni Boucher Position on Affordability and the CT Economy
We must do more to make Connecticut affordable and ease burdens on our families. The cost-of-living in Connecticut is unaffordable and has been exacerbated by a forty-year high in inflation and skyrocketing gas prices.
Toni Boucher Position on Crime and Law Enforcement
People do not feel safe in our state. Every time you turn on the news, there’s a new story about crime, car break-ins, and violence.
